Smithfield High Student Art Raises Money for Charity

Smithfield High art classes hosted a student art show on December 1 at CURE Coffeehouse in Smithfield. Over a dozen pieces of student work were on display and for sale that evening to raise money for charity. Within an hour of the opening, every piece was sold, resulting in a donation of over $250 for the Children’s Hospital of the King's Daughters, selected by the students as their designated charity. In addition to raising money for CHKD, the students in Jessica Jackman’s Art classes learned to use their art in a real world scenario and to organize a show of their work.
