Bus Routes and Stops
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
A review of IWCS practices recommends the division no longer post bus routes online.
Bus routes were emailed to families on October 4, 2023 through Connect 5. Questions about bus routes should be directed to your child's school or the IWCS Transportation Department, at 757-357-9920, or through their Let's Talk link on our website.
IWCS takes the safety and security of every child in our care very seriously and will always err on the side of caution with decisions involving students. Routes will continue to be emailed to families through Connect 5 at the beginning of the school year and when significant changes occur.
The Transportation Department develops bus routes and stops each year. This information is shared with families and schools approximately one week before school begins.
Whenever possible, bus stops will placed at a street corner. Bus stops are designed to be no more than 2/10 (.2) miles from a student's home, per School Board policy. Parents are encouraged to walk elementary school students to and from the bus stop, and to be at the stop 10 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. All stop times are approximate and can vary based on conditions such as traffic, road conditions, and new stops based on student enrollment changes.

Please note that runs are continually updated through the first month of school. You should arrive at the stop 10 minutes prior to the listed bus time.
