iConserve is a program motivated by a commitment to being both fiscally and environmentally responsible. It represents a dedication to responsible management of material resources and to the health of school division as well as the overall community. The expansion of this program is a bold effort to take energy savings to not only become environmentally friendly, but to take energy savings and turn them into sustainable projects. IWCS believes that every child deserves access to a great and equitable education. Providing a safe, healthy, and comfortable learning environment is essential to the academic success of our students.

Embodied within the mission of Isle of Wight County Schools is a dedication to help our 21st century learners become good citizens that are responsible, contributing members of our global society. By doing so, we educate students and staff on ways to utilize resources in a thoughtful and efficient manner.  Our efforts are focused on helping meet educational goals while also responsibly using our resources to demonstrate environmental stewardship to our students, staff, and community.

With a focus on school division sustainability, IWCS is bringing together departments, community organizations and school leaders to make a lasting impact in conserving energy, environmental efficiency, and STEM learning opportunities. Our hope is to continue expanding our efforts with a reciprocal approach that will allow the projects to be continuously replicated and beneficial to surrounding Isle of Wight Community.
