Isle of Wight County Schools (IWCS) recognizes a support staff member each quarter who has gone Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD). At the June 8, 2023, school board meeting, the division recognized fourth quarter honoree, Keli Jennings, Behavioral Instructional Assistant at Carrollton Elementary School. Jennings' nomination highlighted how she advocates for students in need and puts the well-being of students above her own. She single-handedly created a Voting Day at Carrollton to give students the opportunity to vote on the official name of the Cardinal mascot. As part of her award, she received a $50 Visa gift card from The Women's Club of Smithfield and a personalized plaque created in the Smithfield High School Maker Space.
