The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a hazardous weather statement for Monday that includes Isle of Wight County. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop Monday morning into Monday afternoon with the potential of a few being strong to severe. Damaging wind gusts and the potential for a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out with the strongest storms. Currently, the threat for heavy rainfall and flash flooding is low.
Isle of Wight County Schools will be monitoring the weather and roadways early Monday morning. Should there be a need to modify the schedule for Monday, an announcement will be sent through Connect 5 and shared through our usual outlets.
The purpose of the IWCS COVID-19 Dashboard is to provide our families and staff with a transparent summary of COVID-19 cases.
In-person students received the forms with their report cards. Forms have been mailed to parents of virtual students. An electronic form is attached to this announcement.
On Friday, November 13, Governor Northam announced changes to face mask requirements for all Virginians. The new mandate now requires a face mask to be worn in schools, even if individuals are spaced six feet apart. To comply with the new measure, beginning Thursday, November 18, all Isle of Wight County Schools' students and staff will be required to wear a face covering while in a school building.
