Isle of Wight County Schools is Seeking Input on the 2019 – 2020 School Calendar

Both options reflect changes from the 2018 - 2019 calendar.  Those changes include two professional development days for staff (October 14, March 16), and two days for elementary parent conferences and teacher workdays (December 6, May 8).   The last day of school for students is Thursday, June 11.  June 12 would be a division-wide workday.

The key differences between Option 1 and Option 2 are Winter Break and Spring Break.  Option 1 has 12 days for Winter Break (December 19--January 3) and a 5 day Spring Break.  Option 2 has 10 days for Winter Break (December 23 --January 3) and a 6 day Spring Break, with Good Friday before Spring Break as a holiday.

The survey will remain open until January 31, 2019 at 11:59 pm.  A final draft calendar will be shared with the School Board at their February 14 meeting, and they will vote to approve the calendar at their March 14 meeting.  Please note:  the final calendar recommendation may or may not be identical to either of these options.
