The School Board will hold its annual reorganization meeting on January 15, 2026, at 4:30pm, in the Westside Elementary School Auditorium, 800 W. Main St., Smithfield, VA 23430. The School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2026, beginning at 5:00pm in the Westside Elementary School Auditorium, 800 W. Main St., Smithfield, VA 23430. After calling the meeting to order, the Board will vote to move into closed session. At 6:00 pm, the Board will reconvene in open session. Isle of Wight Achievers and special presentations occur shortly after 6:00 p.m. The meetings will be streamed live on the IWCS Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Citizens wishing to speak during the citizens comments section of the meeting can file a Request to Speak form . The form may be obtained from any county school principal's office or the Superintendent's office. It is also available online. Requests to speak may also be made by contacting Jessica Whitlow, Board Clerk, at [email protected], or by calling 757-365-1619 prior to the meeting. Citizens may also sign up at the beginning of the meeting on the signup sheet placed at the entrance of the meeting room. Requests to speak during Citizen Comments must be made before 6:00pm the night of the meeting. Requests to speak during closed session must be made two days prior to the meeting by contacting the Board Clerk.
The School Board of Isle of Wight County is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
