IWCS Announces 1st Quarter ABCD Award Winner

Each quarter we recognize one of our support staff members who has gone Above and Beyond the Call of Duty. Anyone throughout the division is invited to submit nominations. A panel reviews the nominees and selects the quarterly winners. Our 2019-2020 1st quarter ABCD Award winner is Tracey Harmon, Administrative Associate from Smithfield Middle School.

The nomination for Tracey stated the following:

Tracey Harmon is the glue that keeps the Smithfield Middle School family together. Her smiling face and positive attitude make everyone feel welcome as soon as they step foot in the main office.  She is an outstanding person with the highest of integrity.  Tracey’s kind heart makes her a friend to everyone. At the beginning of the year, in spite of all the chaos, she makes sure all the schedules are correct before they are given to teachers and sent to parents.  Her self-motivation pushes her to complete this task plus all the other numerous tasks at the start of the year with grace and accuracy. Tracey is a great listener and an outstanding team player. She epitomizes GRIT and GREAT, not just for Smithfield Middle, but for all of Isle of Wight County Schools.

As part of her award, Tracey is receiving a $50 Visa gift card thanks to the generous support of The Woman’s Club of Smithfield.  She is also receiving a personalized plaque created in the Smithfield High School MakerSpace.  And if the day couldn’t get any better, today is Tracey’s birthday.
