The $1,800 donation was raised through the sale of reusable bottles designed by Emrick and sponsored by SSC, the division’s custodial services company. Emrick was inspired to launch the project by an assignment during her sixth grade English class at Westside Elementary. Her goal is to reduce the number of single use plastic bottles, which mostly end up in landfills. There are still some reusable bottles available for $10.
