Smithfield High JROTC Holds Successful Blood Drive

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Luter YMCA graciously agreed to host the drive, which is typically held at the high school. Cadets collaborated with the American Red Cross and the YMCA personnel to prepare and execute the drive. The event resulted in 44 pints of blood being collected, which equates to 132 potential lives being saved. The success of the program has established the event as the number one high school blood drive in Virginia. The SHS JROTC wishes to formally thank all the community members who took time out of their day to come and donate blood to help others. The next drive is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24th.
