Carrsville Elementary School 5th grader, Keli Square reflects on Martin Luther King Jr. and how his legacy and words resonate with Keli and his peers even today. Keli wrote and performed his original composition in honor of MLK Day 2022.

my name is Kelly Square I go to Cartersville Elementary and I'm in 5th grade I am a ten-year-old biracial kid which is unique experience my skin is light brown and my hair is bigger than affiliate in my student I like be run like m.l.k. about black people to have self-esteem just as much as he fought against segregation my parents and I discuss at MLK and black history often black people have not always been treated fairly and at times still not today this is why people like Martin Luther King Jr or important inspires change and give hope either a couple of my favorite MLK quotes faces taken the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase find me the Chinese thing inside step out of my comfort zone it would Inspire each other to speak for themselves and do things that we are intimidated to do if you can't fly then run if you can't run then walk if you can't walk then crawl whatever you do you have to keep moving forward this inspires me because it reminds me of never give up what I want to achieve in life and motivate me to keep on going in life no matter what happens it will inspire me and the teachers are never give up on anything happy Martin Luther
