Community Input Meeting on July 28 for Citizen Comments on Reopening of Schools

The School Board of Isle of Wight County will hold a Community Input Meeting on July 28 for citizens to make comments on the reopening of schools in the fall. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria at Westside Elementary School, 800 Main Street, Smithfield, VA 23430. Guests should enter through the front door at Westside and all guests must wear a face covering. Speakers will have three minutes for their remarks and comments are limited to the reopening of schools in September. The meeting will be streamed live on the IWCS Facebook page and YouTube channel. Families and staff will also have an opportunity to provide comments through an online form that will be available prior to the July 28 meeting.
 
In addition, the School Board of Isle of Wight County will hold a Special Called Meeting on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 9:00am in the cafeteria at Westside Elementary School, Door #5, 800 West Main St., Smithfield, VA 23430. The purpose of the meeting is to review subcommittee reports on the reopening of schools.
 
A second Special Called Meeting will be held Thursday, July 30, also at Westside Elementary at 9am. The purpose of the meeting will be to finalize the instructional plan for the fall.
 
Face coverings are required for attendees and all meetings will be streamed live on the IWCS Facebook page and YouTube Channel.
