IWCS to Offer New Tuition-Based PreK Program

Isle of Wight County Schools is offering a new full day Pre-K program (Little
Sprouts) that will focus on learning experiences that will cultivate growth by
partnering high school Early Childhood Career & Technical Education students
with preschoolers in a safe, nurturing, interactive environment, for an extremely

Changes to Public Comments for May 14 Board Meeting

The Isle of Wight County School Board will hold their May 14 meeting in the cafeteria at Westside Elementary School.  The meeting will be streamed live through the division's Facebook and YouTube page to allow for an audience while adhering to social distancing guidelines.  The meeting will not have an opportunity for in-person public comment.  However, anyone wishing to have remarks heard during the citizens comments section of the meeting can email their written comments to Tracey Reutt, Board Clerk, at treutt@iwcs.k12.va.us  or mail their comments to Isle of Wight County School Board, 820 W. Main St., Smithfield, VA 23430 ATTN:  Tracey Reutt.  Mailed remarks must be received by Tuesday, the week of the board meeting.  Emailed remarks must be received by noon the day of the meeting.  Remarks are limited to five minutes per person.

Windsor High Teacher Selected as IWCS Teacher of Year

Isle of Wight County Schools (IWCS) announced today the selection of Jessica Brannan, a Spanish teacher at Windsor High School, as the 2019—2020 Teacher of the Year for the division.  Brannan is currently in her sixth year of teaching and her second year with IWCS.

IWCS Budget Work Session on April 27

The School Board of Isle of Wight County will hold an FY21 Budget Work Session on Monday, April 27, 2020, at 9:00am in the cafeteria at Westside Elementary School, 800 West Main St., Smithfield, VA 23430. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the FY21 School Division Operational Budget. The meeting will be streamed live through the division's Facebook and YouTube pages to allow for an audience while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
