Carrollton Elementary Students Connect through Hot Chocolate

Students from Carrollton Elementary School in Isle of Wight County recently sponsored a photo contest to foster a sense of community and help to create joy throughout the school.   Students in the Cardinals CARE Club and their club sponsor, school counselor Marie Berkeley, distributed hot chocolate packets and marshmallows to every student in their school, including those participating in virtual learning. Students and their families were asked to post a picture in an online album of them enjoying their hot chocolate.  Students and families commented on the photos and liked their favorites.  Third grader Harmoni Raboteau’s photo of her with her Mom, Charity Shaw, received the most likes, earning Harmoni a small prize from the club.

Carrollton Elementary is inviting the community to join in the fun.  Share a picture to the album of you enjoying your own cup of hot chocolate.  The students believe this is a great way people can be together even while they are apart.

You can check out the photos online and post your own by visiting the Carrollton Elementary School web page at https://caes.iwcs.k12.va.us/
