Mask Mandate to End for Students in IWCS School Buildings on February 28, 2022

Today Governor Glenn Youngkin signed a bill into law which allows the parent of any child enrolled in school to elect for their child to not wear a mask on school property.  The bill requires each local school division to comply no later than March 1, 2022.

To allow the division time to address procedures related to isolations and quarantines, Isle of Wight County Schools will begin making masks optional for students beginning Monday, February 28, 2022.

However, masks must continue to be worn on school buses until further notice due to a federal mandate and to help ensure safety for the bus drivers.

We ask all parents for their continued cooperation with supporting current guidelines for masks until Monday, February 28, 2022.
