WHS Bookkeeper Announced as IWCS Support Employee of the Year

Lori Wall, Bookkeeper at Windsor High School, was honored today as the first-ever Isle of Wight County Schools (IWCS) Support Employee of the Year. She was surprised with the award at her school by Superintendent Dr. Theo Cramer, who personally recognized her outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to the school community.

Lori Wall has been with IWCS since September 17, 2007. She began her career as a bookkeeper at Windsor Elementary School, later serving in the same role at Smithfield High School, before joining Windsor High School in August 2015, where she has remained a vital member of the team ever since.

With 18 years of service in IWCS, Lori has consistently gone above and beyond her duties. She expertly manages complex financial responsibilities ranging from Career and Technical Education (CTE) budgets and yearbook sales to student activity funds and vendor coordination. Her work is widely regarded as the gold standard within the division, and she is often called upon to mentor and train new bookkeepers across the county.

Principal Dawn Carroll praised Lori as “the heart of Windsor High School,” citing her unmatched professionalism, positivity, and tireless commitment to both staff and students. “When Lori is out, the school feels it. She’s the glue that holds so much of WHS together,” said Carroll.

In addition to her bookkeeping role, Lori actively supports school and community events, from athletic fundraisers and student performances to staff appreciation initiatives and outreach for families in need. Her ability to foster meaningful relationships and create a welcoming school environment is unmatched.

Superintendent Cramer noted, “Lori Wall sets the example for what support employees can achieve. Her work ethic, compassion, and leadership elevate everyone around her.”

Lori Wall's recognition marks the beginning of a new annual tradition for IWCS, celebrating the vital role support employees play in shaping successful schools and strong communities.
