Isle of Wight County Schools (IWCS) recognizes a support staff member each quarter who has gone Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD). At the June School Board meeting, the division recognized Lisa Lindgren, an Instructional Assistant at Carrollton Elementary School, as the fourth-quarter honoree. Her nomination highlighted her kindness, patience, flexibility, and an unwavering commitment to supporting students, staff, and the Carrollton Elementary School community. Whether assisting colleagues, helping provide backpacks and clothing for students in need, or ensuring children have the care and support to succeed, Lisa consistently puts others first. Her quiet acts of service and genuine compassion embody the spirit of the ABCD Award. As part of her recognition, Lindgren received a $50 gift card from MRH Contracting and a personalized plaque created in the Smithfield High School Maker Space.
