The CIP identifies major, non-recurring infrastructure needs with an estimated cost of more than $50,000 and a service life of five years or longer. Community feedback is an important part of determining which projects should be considered priorities in the years ahead.

Community members are also encouraged to complete our CIP Survey to provide feedback on the projects currently being considered. The survey includes a brief explanation of each proposed project to help respondents understand the need it is intended to address.
The survey will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 25.

Several major projects have already been approved and are in various stages of completion, including the replacement bus garage, a new elementary school to replace Westside Elementary, a new band room at Smithfield High School, and security vestibules at all schools. Because these projects have already been approved, they are not part of the current prioritization process.
Feedback gathered through the public meetings and survey will help inform a proposed draft of the long-range CIP, which will be shared with the community in the coming weeks for an additional opportunity to provide feedback.
