IWCS Announces Organizational Changes to Division Administration

Dr. Jim Thornton announced several changes to division administration. Mr. Mike Lombardo will serve as Assistant Superintendent for Isle of Wight County Schools. Lombardo currently holds the position of Executive Director of Innovative Learning. He joined the IWCS team in February, 2016, after serving as both a building and division-level administrator in York County Public Schools.

“I am looking forward to supporting the entire IWCS community in my new role as Assistant Superintendent,” said Lombardo. “It is an exciting time for the division and I am honored to be part of such a great team as we continue to focus on deeper learning experiences for all students."

Heather Tuck will become the Director of Career and Technical Education and play a major role in the implementation of the division’s new educational plan.

“I am proud of the direction the division is going and realize it is crucial to align leadership to continue this momentum,” said Superintendent Dr. Jim Thornton. ““These changes will ensure we are successful in carrying out our mission of preparing all students to be college, career and life ready.”
