School Board Members

District 3 (formerly the Hardy District)
Jarad Ford was elected to the Isle of Wight County School Board as a write-in candidate in November 2025 and represents the District 3 seat. A lifelong resident of Smithfield, Virginia, Mr. Ford is a proud graduate of Isle of Wight County Schools and Smithfield High School (Class of 2009). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Hampton University and a Master of Arts in Education Policy and Leadership from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Ford’s professional experience includes work in classrooms, research teams, apprenticeships, and program management supporting both K–12 education and adult learning. As a graduate of Isle of Wight County Schools and a committed member of the community, he values the role public education plays in strengthening the community and preparing students for meaningful futures. Mr. Ford is committed to supporting student achievement, expanding educational and career opportunities, and working collaboratively with families, educators, and community partners to ensure the continued success of Isle of Wight County Schools.

Jason P. Maresh was elected to the Isle of Wight County School Board on November 8, 2022 to fill the unexpired term of the District 4 seat. Mr. Maresh holds a B.S. in Administration and Management from Excelsior University and currently works as a civilian data analyst for the Navy. He is a U.S. Navy veteran, serving over 21 years on active duty. As a Navy Master Training Specialist, Mr. Maresh has developed, implemented, and revised curriculum based on training requirements, job performance standards, and tactical doctrine. He has provided formal training and assessments in classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job environments.
As a parent of children attending IWCS and as a resident of Windsor since 2013, Mr. Maresh has a vested interest in public education. He is committed to ensuring IWCS are safe, provide every student with an equal opportunity to succeed, focus on academics (not social ideologies or politics), and continue to offer the best Career Technical Education (CTE) programs available. Mr. Maresh believes parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff are the cornerstones of quality education with often-challenging roles, and the school board is accountable for ensuring they are properly supported through policy implementation, responsible fiscal oversight, and community engagement.

Mr. Wooster's philosophy of education is that everyone is different and learns in various ways. We must strive to
find those methods that stimulate and captivate young minds so they can grow and be successful in their future endeavors. One of his goals is to expand on the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program to include more fields to create job ready career skills.
