Isle of Wight County Schools is seeking input from the community to assist with the development of a long range facility plan for the division. Community meetings were held on February 5 at Smithfield High and February 12 at Windsor High. Meeting participants asked or submitted questions throughout the evening. You can view the questions and responses below. There was also a request for Attendance Zone maps, which are also posted below.
A survey was available to all parents, employees and community members in order to gather input to help the division develop a long range plan for facilities. The questions in the survey were similar to the questions shared during the February 5 and February 12 community input meetings. The survey closed on Tuesday, February 20 at 11:55 pm. A summary of the survey results is posted below.
IWCS has established a committee to review information from the survey and to help create possible options that will be shared with the community for feedback.
The committee will meet March 1 and March 20 at 6:00pm at the IWCS School Board Office building, 820 W. Main St., Smithfield. In addition, there will be two community meetings.
UPDATE: The Community Meetings scheduled for March 12 and 13 have been postponed. One will be held April 16. We will post the other date and the locations for both as soon as they are finalized.
