Isle of Wight County Schools offers competitive employee benefits as part of the division's total compensation package, including automatic enrollment in the Virginia Retirement System for all full-time employees.

Unlimited sick leave is earned at the rate of 12 hours per month for 10, 11, and 12 month full-time employees. Other permanent employees, working at least 20 hours per week, earn four (4) days sick leave per year, and may accumulate up to a maximum of 25 days. Employees may also enroll in Sick Leave Bank (Policy GCBF).

Annual Leave for vacations and other personal reasons is provided to all 12-month employees on a graduated scale (Policy GCBD).

Personal leave, up to three (3) days per contract year of accumulated sick leave, is available to all employees who earn sick leave, with the exception of those employees who earn annual leave.

  • Salary supplements are given to professional employees with the following advanced degrees: Masters, Advanced Studies, Education Specialist, and Doctorate.   
  • The Employee Assistance Program offers free, confidential counseling for all personnel and their families.
